ABU DHABI: David Willey backed his brisk 26-run cameo with two wickets and powered Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to a comfortable 29-run victory over Dubai Capitals in the 20th match of the ILT20 here on Saturday.
Put into bat first, the Knight Riders posted a commendable total of 183 on the board before bundling out on the final delivery of their innings.
The home side batters, in a combined effort, made valuable contributions to the total.
Wicketkeeper batter Michael Pepper smashed a quickfire 32 at the top. His 16-ball knock featured four boundaries and two sixes.
Later, Andre Russell and David Willey bolstered the Knight Riders’ total with ferocious hitting.

Russell top-scored for the Knight Riders with a quickfire 41 off just 16 deliveries with the help of three boundaries and as many sixes.
Willey, on the other hand, struck two boundaries and a six on his way to an unbeaten 26 off 18 deliveries.
For the Capitals, Akif Raja, Scott Kuggeleijn and Dushmantha Chameera bagged two wickets each while Roelof van der Merwe, Jason Holder and Sikandar Raza struck out a batter apiece.
In return, Dubai Capitals could accumulate 154/8 in the allotted overs despite a quickfire 42 each by David Warner and Holder.

The left-handed opener ticked the scoreboard singlehandedly for the Capitals while losing partners at the other end.
He finally perished in the 12th over after a 27-ball 42, leaving the Capitals reeling at 75/7.
Experienced all-rounder Jason Holder offered a fightback at the death with his sensational knock but his efforts came up short.
Holder hit four boundaries and three sixes on his way to a 21-ball 42.
For the Knight Riders, Willey, Imad Wasim and Sunil Narine took two wickets each while Russell and Josh Little claimed one apiece.
